1. A Car Called Desire

Saw a gleaming car at the mall,
Swanky wheels; flashy lights and leather seats.

Just stood there
Staring; almost leering at me.

Sheer class; screaming desire
Doesn’t it set the heart afire?

Desire strikes overwhelming,
Mind swimming in emotions red and mostly green.

“Can’t afford it!” said the mind
Swilling smaller sips of rationale.

Reeks the smell of plastic,
Of the card variety...

Destined if it is,
Will be yours in time to come…

Just as Greed was winning,
Fate took over.
